Fly Me To The Moon From Israel

Nurit Greenger

Among the guest speakers at a recent breakfast meeting organized by the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce, headed by Jacob Segal, and hosted by Bank Leumi and Michal Miron, bank first VP, in Beverly Hills, was Zohar Levkovitz. Zohar is a member of Team SpaceIL (http://www.spaceil.com/), that is leading the international drive to amass $30Million dollars, the amount needed to plant the flag of the state of Israel on the surface of the moon. When the moon-landing apparatus, to be as small as a computer hard-drive tower, will land on the moon, it will make Israel the 3rd country on earth, after the United States and Russia, to have landed on the moon. Among the members of Team SpaceIL is former Beverly Hills mayor and a Goodwill Ambassador, Jimmy Delshad.

Today, JerusalemOnline News included the TED presentation of Yonatan Winetraub, who works for the Israeli Aerospace Industries' Space Division. Yonatan is the Founder and Co-CEO of Team SpaceIL, its goal, again, to make Israel the third country to land on the moon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi0orQafrzI&feature=player_embedded.

While the mullahs in Iran are busy building weapons of mass destruction, their final aim is to destroy Israel, Israel will be on the moon to watch them from above.

Israel landing on the moon is not only a statement of achievement of technology. In time when Israel finds itself number 31 among 34 countries of the number of youths who study science, the project aims to encourage kids to learn engineering. But most of all, it is to tell the world that, no matter what you do, no matter how many obstacles you put in Israel's way, each time you stand in the Jewish nation's way you only make the Jewish people more determined and stronger. It is because the world must come to grip with the fact that the nation of Israel is alive and is thriving-Am Yisrael Chai forever.

As of today, the Jewish Nation populous is 14Million but its ambitions can account for a population of 140Million.

SpaceIL Project is synonymous to Jewish pride and it feeds the Jewish ego. A project to strengthen Israel's morale and esteem.

If you contribute even ONE Shekel, ONE Dollar, ONE Mark, or ONE Pound, you will become part of the non-profit effort to give Israel one more achievement prize, this time, become a moon walker.

So what are you waiting for?
